2011 LEGISLATIVE “CHAMPIONS OF BUSINESS”
8 area lawmakers recognized for fighting for sound business policies
A brand new program by The Chamber honors 8 local state legislators who “…were fully engaged with the Chamber members and the business community, fighting for sound business policies and principles….” during the 2011 session. The 2011 Legislative “Champions of Business” are featured in the new Legislative Report, The Chamber’s wrap-up assessment of actions impacting the regional and state business climate – pro and con – during this year’s First Session of the 68th General Assembly. It examines bills on crucial issues including health care, our military economy, regulatory reform, Congressional Redistricting and the very active role of The Chamber’s own Legislative Watch Council (LWC).
Among the notable “Champions of Business” are State Rep. and House Majority Leader Amy Stephens, R – Monument/Black Forest, who led successful efforts to create Colorado’s own health care exchange system, and State Rep. Pete Lee, D – Manitou Springs/Downtown Colorado Springs.
