HB14-1013 Advanced Industries Workforce Development Passes Final House Reading
HB14-1013, Concerning the Creation of the Advanced Industries Workforce Development Program, which I worked on with Representative Mike Foote, has successfully passed through the House. Our bill creates incentives for advanced industries to offer paid internships, getting more Colorado high school and college graduates into the highly skilled jobs that the state’s emerging high-tech economy is producing. Internships are often considered necessary experience for full-time employment, but are often inaccessible to those who cannot afford to work at an unpaid internship while gaining experience and learning necessary technical skills. The bill will now move on to the Senate Business Committee for further consideration.
